American launched free AT&T-sponsored Wi-Fi for AAdvantage members in January 2026, the largest free Wi-Fi rollout of any global carrier. Covers ~90% of the fleet on Viasat and Intelsat equipment. Long-haul widebodies still using Panasonic (most 777s and some 787s) remain paid until they are retrofitted. The earlier T-Mobile free Wi-Fi partnership for AA ended in 2026 in favor of the AT&T deal.
