Where it stands

United is mid-rollout of free Starlink Wi-Fi: 300+ regional jets equipped by Feb 2026, targeting 800+ aircraft by end of 2026 and full fleet by end of 2027. Free for all MileagePlus members on Starlink aircraft only. The T-Mobile in-flight Wi-Fi partnership ended April 13, 2026. On April 17, 2026, a brief technical glitch gave some passengers free access on non-Starlink Viasat-equipped flights; United confirmed this was an error ('We haven't made any changes to our current Wi-Fi policy') and access was restored to paid-only by end of that day. MileagePlus members on non-Starlink aircraft pay the standard $8 day pass.
